Minister terms DG ISPR press conference as ‘balanced’
The outspoken and senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique termed the Director General Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) press conference balance and suggested that all institutions work together for the development of the county. Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Railways minister said that those who termed the press conference controversial wanted to confrontation among the state institutions.
Commenting over the Railways performance minister said that despite a dying Railway has generated record income after provision of facilities and impartment in timing of the trains. He warned, ‘Railway will be severely affected if CPEC delays’ and termed it essential for the up-gradation of the railway.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Railways has planned to issue digital cards to its thousands of employees which will enable them to access all their employment related information on one click. ‘The digital employee card will hold all necessary information of an employee which will be verified duly by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and Pakistan Railways, MIS tracking would provide details of service related data,’ an official in the Ministry told APP.
He said this step would bring a visible change in human resource management of this huge department with approximately 76,000 employees and 96,000 sanctioned strength. The official said currently Railways has thousands of employees on its pay roll therefore to redress the flaws, the institution has already started work on restructuring, which is in its last phase and would be completed in February next year.
To a question, he said in first phase, the information pertaining to employee including date of appointment, retirement, personal information, designation, pay scale and family chart would be verified and registered by NADRA before issuance of digitized employee card.
‘While in the next phase, the same card would be issued to the family members of the employees,’ he said.
In this regard Pakistan Railways already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NADRA for various automation and digitization projects in future.—INP
