Rs2.5b approved for filtration plants

Rawalpindi—The Punjab Government has approved an amount of Rs 2.5 billion for provision of clean drinking water in Tehsil Gujar Khan,said parliamentary secretary for CADD Raja Javaid Ikhlas here on Friday.
Chairing a meeting here, he said that water filtration plants would be installed in 36 union councils of Tehsil Gujar Khan to provide clean drinking water to the residents.
He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was taking keen interest for provision of clean drinking water to the residents across the province and the approval of the huge amount for Gujar Khan shows his commitment.
He said that work on the project would start soon and the citizens of the area would get safe drinking water.—APP
