Roots Ivy DHA-1 celebrates Pink Ribbon Day

Islamabad—Roots Ivy/ DHA-1 celebrated UN International Day of the Girl Child & Pink Ribbon Day 2016 with compassion, enthusiasm, pride and appreciation to acknowledge girls as a population that face grave challenges including gender inequality and child labor, Students joined hands to make this day extra special by conducting special activities including sports gala, heartrending speeches, national songs, fund raising, cake cutting ceremony, wearing pink accessories to support this cause, poster competitions and giving special goody bags to the under-privileged girl students of Government Elementary School Kalyal Rawalpindi.
Honorable Chief Guest Ms. Vibeke Jensen, Director UNESCO Pakistan joined all the students to celebrate these significant days for a meaningful cause.
According to the World Cancer Research Fund International, Breast Cancer is the second most common type of cancer.
