Ring leader of criminal racket arrested

Islamabad—Islamabad Police have arrested the ring leader of a criminal racket involved in child abduction, dacoities, frauds and women harassment. According to police sources, 11-year old Sahil Latif was kidnapped by some unknown persons riding on a car from Sector G-11 on April 22 this year. However, due to chase by a police team they left the child at G-10 and a case regarding the incident was registered at Ramana Police Station.
The police continued efforts to trace the absconding kidnappers and succeeded in arresting one of them a few days back in a joint operation with Lahore Police.
The accused, Farooq Nool, is a resident of Jhang and said to be a well-connected person.
During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that a rape case (FIR No.3/16) was registered against him and his accomplices at Aabpara Police Station. Similarly, another case (50/2013) was registered against him by Loi Bher Police following the complaint of Ms Saleem Akhtar for harassing her and attempting to occupy her house, where the accused was living as a tenant.
Accused Farooq Nool had reportedly a criminal record and is wanted to police of various districts. He moved to Karachi a few years back and allegedly murdered the owner of the house, which he had taken on rent there, besides looting cash and other valuables. Around 32 first information reports of various crimes have been registered against him at police stations in various districts. He has also committed frauds of Rs 110 million with various persons and is involved in selling stolen vehicles in Rawalpindi and Lahore.—APP
