Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed flood preparedness ahead of the rainy season in Punjab and progress regarding implementation of the Patient Transfer Service in all districts of the province.
Presiding over a meeting of all District Emergency Officers (DEOs) at Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Friday, he directed them to ensure 100 per cent preparedness and stay ready for dealing with any flood-like situation.
He specifically advised the DEOs of flood-prone districts to organise mock exercises and send progress reports to the headquarters.
The DG announced that ‘overtime emergency allowance’ will be provided to the staff working extra time for the Patient Transfer Service.
He also constituted a committee comprising Regional Emergency Officer (REO) Mian Riffat Zia, DEO Sialkot Syed Kamal Abid, DEO Faisalabad Engr Ahtesham Wahla and Emergency Officer Lahore Dr Rizwan Chaudhry to finalise and standardise uniform and dress code regulations for the service.
The committee will submit its recommendations within three weeks for final review and implementation.
He said that the provincial government has appointed him Additional Director General Punjab Road Safety Authority, for which they all will have to work together.
