Remedial Centre for disabled children inaugurated

Karachi—The inaugural ceremony of Prof. Dr. Azhar Rizvi Remedial Center at Faculty of Education, University of Karachi, was held at the Campus on Friday.
Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser was the chief guest while Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Waseem Wohra, was also present on the occasion.
The Dean Faculty of Education KU, Prof. Dr. Shagufta Shahzadi, said that the Center has been named after a prominent personality Prof. Dr. Azhar Rizvi.
She said that the Center would carry out assessment, guidance and referral for the disabled children.
The service would be provided on first Saturday of every month by the faculty of the Center as well as 20 experts who are running various institutions.
Dr. Shagufta also lauded the support and guidance of the Vice Chancellor for the promotion of Faculty of Education.
She added that Faculty of Education has published its research journal and was striving to promote the research culture.
The Center will help diagnose the disability in reading of mentally and physically challenged children and improving their skills.
In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser appreciated the mission taken by the Faculty by coming up with this Center.
He said that the University of Karachi would extend every possible support in these efforts.
Waseem Vohra also assured that every possible assistance would be extended to this Center.—APP
