Refugees are our brethren, there settlement is our priority: PM AJK

Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Farooq Haider Khan chaired a meeting regarding resettlement and rehabilitation of Refugees based in Pakistan and Refugees since 1989 here on Tuesday.
It was decided in the meeting that work on provision of basic facilities including sewerage, link corridors and water supply should be started within a month in refugee colonies. In this concern, a committee was also made headed by Minister Rehabilitation Nasir Dar; issues of fake state subjects, acquisition and allotment of land for graveyards and colonies ought to be resolve by this committee. Minister for food Syed Shaukat Shah and Member Assembly Ahmed Raza Qadri are also part of this rehabilitation committee.
Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Fayyaz Ahmed Abbasi, Secretary Local government, Commissioner Rehabilitation, DG local government and rural development including Project director also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister said, “Refugees of Indian occupied Kashmir are our brethren, they are sons of soil and there settlement should be in our priority.”
He reiterated that it is our responsibility to provide basic necessities to refugees and we will fulfill our commitment; stern action will be taken who forged on Refugees’ name, any kind of delinquency should be accountable in this regard.
Prime Minister exhorted that practice of fake state subject is intolerable and directed the committee to give strong recommendations within a month to solve this issue besides resettlement. Prime Minister also directed the committee members to include considerations of other elected representatives of refugee members’ assembly for this purpose.
