RCB launches anti-encroachment campaign


The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Thursday confiscated six truckload goods from different markets in its operation against encroachments and sealed 12 shops. According to RCB spokesman Qaiser Mahmood, the operation was conducted in Peoples Colony, Tench Bhatta, Babu Mohalla, Saddar, Bank Road, Peshawar Road, Naseerabad and other areas.
A number of shopkeepers in different areas were also imposed fines. The anti-encroachment operation on the instruction of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Sabtain Raza has been intensified, he added. He said, 40 notices were also issued to the shopkeepers and they have been directed to remove encroachments on their own else strict action in accordance with the law would be taken.—APP
