RCB conducts operation against selling of unhealthy meat

Rawalpindi—The food inspections teams of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) have conducted an operation in different areas of cantonment against meat shops selling unhealthy meat.
Spokesperson RCB, Qaiser Mehmood says the teams of RCB carried out an operation in the areas of Dhok Banaras, Range Road, Misrial Road and Niazi Town.
Few shops have also been sealed for selling substandard meat while their owners were charged with heavy fines. The inspection teams seized a large cache of unhealthy meat from these shops which was destroyed completely.
A meat shop at Range Road was sealed during the operation for selling unhealthy meat. The large stock of unhealthy meat recovered from the shop was destroyed and the owner of the shop was charged with heavy fine.
Over the last month the inspection teams of RCB have successfully collected a fine of Rs. 65, 000 from the owners of different meat shops who play with lives of the people by selling unexamined meat which is injurious to health especially in the wake of deadly diseases such as Congo virus, Mehmood said.—NNI
