Rangers recover huge cache of arms, close aide of Saulat Mirza arrested

Rangers conducted an operation in Korangi on Thursday night and recovered a large quantity of arms buried in Bagh Korangi Graveyard.
According to details, Rangers launched the operation in Korangi after gaining information from an activist of a political party who is currently under police custody.
The arms which were recovered included LMG rifles, 9MM pistols and hundreds of bullets. The ammunition was wrapped in cloths and plastic bags and buried in the graveyard.
One such recovery was made earlier in Karachi’s Sakhi Hassan graveyard. Rangers, together with intelligence personnel, had reached the graveyard and surrounded it with the help of 15 vehicles. The paramilitary personnel had unearthed a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the siege of the graveyard.
The law-enforcement personnel had also recovered weapons dumped in different areas across the metropolis prior to this action.
The security forces also carried out an operation in North Nazimabad area of Karachi on Thursday during which an activist of a political party was arrested.
Sources informed media that the arrested man is a close aide of notorious target killer Saulat Mirza who was hanged in 2016.
Sources further said that the arrested man was later shifted to some undisclosed location for further investigation.
