Rain, thunderstorm likely at scattered places

Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab ICT, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir whereas hot and humid weather to grip other parts of the country during the next 24 hours. Rainfall is likely in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places of Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal divisions.
Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Moderate monsoon currents are still penetrating central and upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next 2 to 3 days. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country and will persist till Thursday, an official of Met office told APP.
During the last 24 hours, weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Bannu, Hazara, Kohat, Sargodha divisions, FATA and GB. Rainfall recorded during this time span was KP: Kohat 35mm, Bannu 28mm, Balakot 15mm, Malamjabbamm, Parachinar 09mm, Saidu Sharif, Cherat 02mm, Kakul 01mm, Punjab: Joharabad 04mm, Kamra 01mm, Bhakkar 01mm and Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 03mm.
Maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday remained Sibbi 42øC, Dalbandin 41øC, Faisalabad 36øC, Multan 36øC, Peshawar 35øC, Hyderbad 35øC, Lahore 35øC, Muzaffarabad 35øC, Chitral 34øC, Islamabad 33øC, Quetta 33øC, Karachi 32øC, Gilgit 31øC, Dir 31øC. Skardu 30øC and Murree 22øC.—APP
