Rain likely in upper region

Islamabad—Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday indicated chances of rain-thunderstorm at few places of upper parts of the country during the next 24 hours. Rain-thunderstorm is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Sukkur divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Mainly hot and dry conditions to prevail over most parts of the country. Low pressure area is located over northeast Balochistan and its adjoining areas. A westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during the next 24.
The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was FATA: Parachinar 19mm, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Bannu 11, Kalam 10, Chitral 08, Pattan 07, Drosh, Mirkhani, Dir 03, Malamjabba, Balakot 02 and Saidu Sharif 01. Gilgit-Baltistan: Astore 11, Chillas, Gilgit, Bagrote 01, Balochistan: Zhob 05, Barkhan, Barkhan 01. Punjab, Khanpur 04, Multan, Jhelum, Layyah, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Bhakkar 01 and Sindh: Jaccobabad 03mm.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Dadu 45 C, Shaheed Benazirabad 44 C, Padidan, Larkana, Sibbi, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar 43 C.
The tempertaures in the other cities were Islamabad 32C, Lahore 37 C, Karachi 35 C, Peshawar 33 C, Quetta 28 C, Gilgit 28 C, Chitral 24 C, Hunza 26 C, Muzaffarabad 28 C, Murree 23 C, Skardu 26 C, Faisalabad 38 C, Multan 40 C, Hyderabad 40 C, Dir 25 C, Kalat 30 C.
