Rain in upcountry likely

Mostly hot, dry weather expected in June: DG Met

Islamabad—Dust-thunderstorm with rain is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan in next 24 hours.
Whereas mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during this time span. A seasonal low pressure area lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending north-eastwards.
A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country during evening/night and likely to move north-eastward in next 18 to 24 hours, an official of Met office told APP. In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, However rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places of Malakand, Gujranwala divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time duration was Kalam 11mm, Sialkot Cantt, Bagrote 01mm.
In another report, the Director General, Pakistan Meteorological Department, Dr. Ghulam Rasool told APP that light rain in pockets with gusty winds is expected in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujrawala, Malakand, Hazara Divisions etc after an interval of almost one week during the month while severe heat conditions will continue elsewhere in the country. —APP
