Rain brings relief to allergy patients as pollen count drops

Islamabad—Director General, Pakistan Metrological Department, Dr. Ghulam Rasool Sunday said that ongoing rains have brought relief to respiratory allergy patients as pollen concentration has dropped significantly due to wet weather. The pollen count on Sunday was 15, 814 per m3 of air in the capital but the count was different for various sectors. The paper mulberry pollen counted in Sector E-8 was 4,4462, F-10 1,861, G-7 4,473 and H-8 15,802 per m3 of air.
Talking to APP, he siad that the weather will remain clear and dry for the next three days due to which pollen concentration is likely to be increased and could touch 20,000 per m3 of air. The ongoing rain spell is in its last stages, he said, adding that weather in Punjab is already clear, however, there is snow and rainfall forecast for upper hilly areas, Kashmir, Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.—APP
