Qasmi briefed over NBF projects

Islamabad—Renowned columnist, scholar, poet and Chairman of the state-run TV Attaul HaqQasmi visited the National Book Foundation (NBF) and took keen interest in various projects being launched by the NBF.
Managing Director NBF Prof Dr Inamul Haq Javeid and Secretary NBF Aftab Soomro welcomed the chairman. Adviser Textbooks Attash Durrani was also present on the occasion.
Prof Dr Inamul Haq Javed briefed Mr. Attaul Haq Qasmi about the fresh schemes of NBF to enhance book reading culture and to provide the readers quality book at handsome discounted rates.
Attaul Haq Qasmi expressed his heart-felt pleasure over the sound progress of NBF and applauded itssuccessful schemes.
“The National Book Foundation is publishing general books as well as the textbooks of international standard and providing books to the readers at subsidized rates,” he said.
Attaul Haq Qasmi also visited the NBF National Book Museum and appreciated its present attractive look. He took keen interest in the newly established corner of calligraphy which speaks about the ancient era and the modern age of calligraphy. He showed his pleasure over the Calligraphy work written on leather and slates (Takhte). “The 55pc discount offered by NBF on NBF publication to its members of Readers Club, is a very good scheme to disseminate knowledge and to promote book reading habits,” Attaul Haq Qasmi further said.
