Deputy Commissioner, Hafizabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa has said that education friendly policies, recruitment of teachers on merit and provision of the best facilities in the school are yielding positive results while revolutionary vision of “Parhao Punjab, Bharho Punjab would not only change the fate of Punjab but also change the destiny of the Pakistan.
He was addressing inaugural ceremony of Children Enrolment Campaign under Universal Primary Education Programmee launched in the district. Chairman District Council Mian Afzal Hussain Tarar, Vice-Chairman, Ray Qamar-ul-Zaman, Chairman Municipal Committee Hafizabad, Haji Jamsheed Abbas Thaheem, Vice-Chairman MC, Khalid Butt, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Allah Ditta Waraich, Chief Executive Officer District Education Authority, Ifthikhar Nawaz Virk and DEO Bushara Khalid, teachers, parents and students attended the ceremony.
DC said that Universal Primary Education Programme would yield far-reaching results for eradicating poverty, unemployment and illiteracy. He said that it was our national and social responsibility including officers of education department, teachers and parents to achieve targets set by the Punjab government for promoting education. He said that free of cost provision of education was a revolutionary and poor friendly steps of the present government as result of which children of the poor could get education from first class to PHD level without any obstacle and bring credit the name of their parents and the nation.
He said that the international institutions were acknowledging improvement in education sector in the Punjab while other provinces of the country were also following the measures taken by the Punjab government which is brighter proof of success of the Punjab government in this important social sector.
He said that everything could improve with strong desire, devotion and passion and no challenge could higher than your resolve at all, it is lake of passion and intention who creates hurdle in the way of achieving destination otherwise, less resources could not obstacle in the way of achieving targets.
He called upon teachers, parents and civil society to play their positive and reasonable role to make this campaign successful and stressed the teacher community to perform their duties with commitment, devotion and national enthusiasm to eliminate illiteracy from the country.
Chief Executive Officer District Education Authority, Iftikahr Nawaz Virk told on this occasion that more than 37 thousand children would be enrolled in the schools during the campaign in the district which would be achieved. He said that with administrative and political support, academic and co-curriculum standard of the schools was improved considerably in the district which would further improve and district would be made number one in the Punjab.
