Lahore—The Directorate of Staff Development plans to establish Early Childhood Education (ECE) classrooms in at least one thousand schools in the province by next year under an approved PC-1 and government intends to make ECE system effective through supporting partners such as World Bank which intends to develop ECE rooms in the province.
UNICEF intends to support to provide ten thousand ECE kits for public schools, SED Special Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said while speaking at one day consultative on Early Childhood Education (ECE) for classrooms of Public Schools in Punjab organized by Directorate of Staff Development in collaboration with PMIU.
He also said that about 40 thousand teachers will be recruited only for primary schools. Investment in ECE is a commitment to the Bright and Prosperous Future and plays a pivotal role in the enrollment and retention of the students and The Early Childhood Education Kit is being revised to improve ECE Classrooms for better learning of kids , Programme Director DSD Saieed Ramzan also added.
Focal Person on ECE Fizza Ali said that The Kit contains materials to help Teachers create a safe learning environment for children. Each item is carefully selected to help develop skills for thinking, speaking, feeling and interacting with others.
Contents include: puzzles and games; counting circle and boxes to stack and sort; board books and puppets for storytelling and art supplies.
