Public hearing to consider environmental affect of pipeline project

Karachi—Sindh Environmental Protection Agency, Govt. of Sindh arranged a public hearing meeting to consider a report, submitted by SSGC on environmental effect, (EIA) at 42 dia, 338 km RLNG pipeline project being laid down from, in the regional office Qasimabad, Hyderabad on 3rd of March, 2016.
The public hearing meeting presided by Muhammad Imran Sabir, Deputy Director Technical (SEPA). Waqar Ali Dy. General Manager (LNG) SSGC provided details & awareness about the importance and need of the project. Environmental Expert Consultant also provided presentation regarding EIA report on SSGC’s RLNG pipeline project.
Prof. Khalida Faryal Aalmani, Director Environmental Sciences Sindh University, Shakila Laghari , Sociologist (SIDA), Munir Ahmed Abbasi, Regional Head (SEPA) Hyderabad, Aamir Mumtaz Khan Acting Senior General Manager (GS), Nisar Shaikh Acting General Manager (Distribution North), Adnan Sagheer Acting General Manager (Transmission) and officials of other departments and public representatives also attended this hearing.
To answer the public queries about the project, a team of expert engineers from different departments of SSGC was present on the occasion, who satisfactorily answered the public queries about the environmental effect of this project.
At the end, Dy. Director Technical (SEPA) thanked the attendants, welcomed their suggestions and assured about the implementation as per rules.
