Karachi—Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Sindh Syed Hafeezuddin has quit his party, and announced to join the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). He also tendered his resignation as MPA. The announcement was made at Bagh-e-Jinnah on Friday in a press conference, which was also addressed by the leader of the PSP Syed Mustafa Kamal.
In his address to the newsmen, Hafeezuddin said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been surrounded by inexperienced and careless people due to which the struggle for making the PTI a stronger party has gone in vain.
He said the real change in Pakistan could not be brought through disco parties and sit-ins but the change could only be ensured through comprehensive plans and policies. All the friends in PTI should also join the PSP because this new party is being headed by enthusiastic personalities
He said it is no crime to talk about the Mohajirs and Karachi. Our forefathers had offered tremendous sacrifice on the creation of Pakistan. Karachi is the economic and revenue engine of the country but the people of Karachi are being deprived of potable water and the required development.
He said that he has been MPA for past three years but the opposition is useless and helpless so there is no use of adhering to the seat of MPA. Like the Mayor of Turkey, only one, who developed Karachi, could bring change in the country. He said he had registered his protest to Imran Khan. The electoral constituency from where the PTI secured 53000 votes lost its candidate as he had withdrawn him from the contest. He also claimed that a lot of ideological workers of the PTI had joined the PSP along with him. It is pertinent to mention that Hafeezuddin had started his political career as worker with the Pakistan People’s Party. Later he joined the Pakistan Muslim League and then PTI and now PSP.
