PTI destabilising economic process: Shahbaz

Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said elements threatening to lockdown Islamabad wanted to hamper a process of national development and prosperity.
He said it was regrettable that conspiracies in this regard were being hatched within the country, a handout issued here on Friday said. He said those involved in politics of allegations and lies were trying to mislead the masses and had resorted to undemocratic, unconstitutional and unethical tactics.
He said people fully knew that Niazi Sahib was not interested in progress and development of the country. The chief minister said the conspiracy to destroy peace and destabilize the country would not succeed, as the people were fully aware of negative designs of these elements.
He said that those creating hurdles in the process of investment and speedy development were enemies of the nation. He said elements involved in sit-ins and promotion of anarchy could not tolerate strengthening of national economy.
Shahbaz Sharif said that these elements had been rejected by the masses and they wanted to take revenge from people for their defeat. He said lockdown of cities results in loss of billions of rupees to economy and closing of Islamabad was economic murder of people.
Shahbaz Sharif said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a guarantee to progress and prosperity of Pakistan and power projects being set up under the CPEC would remove darkness from the country. He said the leader of sit-in group had set records of falsehood and baseless allegations.
He said those engaged in sit-ins wanted to undermine economic process and deprive the poor people of their livelihood but the politically conscious people of the country would stand as a rock against the negative designs of the enemies of progress of the country.
Meanwhile, State Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has said that the government will not allow anyone to create anarchy and chaos in the country at all.
While addressing a press conference at Press Club here on Friday, she said that the country could not afford lockdown of Islamabad and stressed the need for collective efforts for progress and stability of the country.
She said that some hidden hands were creating hurdles to progress and prosperity of the nation. She said that main purpose of the vested interests and anti-Pakistan elements was to create obstacles in the implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to ruin the economy of Pakistan.
The incumbent government was sincerely working under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to improve the socio-economic conditions of people.
She said that the government was determined to protect fundamental rights of the people by stopping Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from making Islamabad hostage. She appealed to patriotic people to reject the call of Imran Khan as his real face had been exposed due to his anti-democratic attitude. She hoped that November 2 would pass peacefully and the negative politics of PTI chief would be buried forever.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz MNA Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s leadership was responsible for clash between its workers and local administration in Islamabad. The gathering of PTI workers was illegal after imposition of section 144 in the capital city, he said.
Speaking in a TV programme, he said PTI was asked to get formal approval from District Coordination Officer but PTI violated the law. Talal said the government has been showing patience and has not stopped any political party from protest so far and either it would do so.—APP
