PTI decides to hold rally at F-9 Park

Islamabad—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf changed the venue for their upcoming April 24 rally after they were denied permission to hold a public rally at D-Chowk.
Party Spokesman Naeemul Haq, in a statement reiterated that PTI’s 20th Founding Day rally will be held in Islamabad on April 24, however, now the party has decided to hold it at F-9 Park instead of D-Chowk.
On Wednesday, PTI had announced to celebrate its 20th foundation day on 24th April at Islamabad’s D-Chowk despite ban on public meetings in the heavily-guarded Red Zone.
However, the party has withdrawn its decision, according to PTI Spokesman. The rally is now going to be held at the federal capital’s F-9 Park where party Chairman Imran Khan will address his supporters.
Last week, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan announced to impose ban on protests within the Red Zone, especially at D-Chowk, at conclusion of a four-day protest sit-in by religious parties.
Report said construction work is underway in the Red Zone that has been sealed since last week for security of the Parliament House, Prime Minister House and other sensitive buildings.—SABAH
