Islamabad—A colorful ceremony was held in Rawalpindi at “Zamidar House,” the residence of Patron-in-Chief Pakistan Sweet Homes, Zamurrad Khan, to commemorate Eid ul-Azha.
As many as five hundred orphan children, dressed in new clothes had gathered at the ceremony to commemorate the auspicious day. Young girls had adorned their hands with colourful bangles and henna as part of traditional Eid celebrations.
The event was attended by Chairman of Labour Union, Capital Development Authority, Chaudhry Yasin, MPA Raja Arshad Hafeez, Malik Israr, Jamal Ansari and Malik Ishrat Bari. The heads of welfare institutions and elders of the area also graced the function.
The ceremony began with congregations offered for Eid with special prayers for safety and prosperity of Pakistan followed by sacrifice of animals to mark the religious fervour of Eid ul-Azha.Talking to media, Khan said that he was delighted to make preparations for Eid-ul-Azha along with the children of Pakistan Sweet homes. He said that all out efforts have been made to make the best Eid arrangements to spread happiness amongst the children of Pakistan Sweet Homes.
“This would be a record that a massive number of children have gathered under one roof on this auspicious day of Eid,” he said.
He said that currently Pakistan Sweet Homes is a shelter to at least 30, 000 orphans. He also said that he was determined to establish another fifty Pakistan sweet homes across the country to provide shelter to more orphans. He appealed to the people of Pakistan to support the mission of Pakistan sweet homes by providing funds.
