PSEB’s participation at Mobile World Congress to boost IT exports

Islamabad—Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has established a Pavilion for second year in a row at Mobile World Congress (February 22-25) at Barcelona, Spain in line with its objectives to boost IT exports. The Board has setup Pakistan pavilion inside Apps Planet Hall which gets a lot of traffic related to mobile applications. Five IT exhibitors with PSEB include Evamp, SecureTech, Versacom, Vector Dynamix, and DPL. These exhibitors have displayed marketing material about their applications and networked with exhibitors in more than thousand stalls at the event which is the largest telecom event of the year.
Secretary IT, Azmat Ali Ranjha and Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Dr. Ismail Shah also visited Pakistan Pavilion on Tuesday and were greeted by Managing Director PSEB, Asim Shahryar Husain and the exhibitors. On the occasion, the Secretary highlighted PSEB’s efforts in this large event with IT companies for the second year in a row and mentioned that participation in such events is important to create awareness about Pakistan’s IT industry and to increase exports.
He hoped Pakistan’s participation in this event would improve every year as more and more IT companies participate from Pakistan and size of pavilion increases every year to reflect true potential of Pakistan’s IT industry. PSEB also played a documentary at the pavilion which it has produced on IT industry of Pakistan as well as distributed brochures and USBs to foreign visitors to the pavilion.
Many countries have set-up pavilions at Mobile World Congress to showcase products and expertise of their IT companies. The event will run for four days and is expected to generate new foreign leads and business for Pakistani IT companies.—APP
