Punjab government has planned to formulate concrete steps for the protection of life and honor of bus-hostess and other female staff deputed at various bus stands so they could serve their duties in a peaceful atmosphere.
Caretaker Minister for Transport Mian Nauman Kabeer has said in this regard that the sad incident of bus-hostess’ murder which took place at Faisalabad bus stand has necessitated the government to take solid steps to prevent such sad incidents with the collaboration of private transport companies and other stakeholders so that the female staff related to transport industry could work with confidence.
He said it is the policy of the transport department to provide peaceful atmosphere to female staff and in this regard existing laws and rules will be implemented in letter and spirit so that the honor and respect of the females could remain fully protected.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Mian Nauman Kabeer has also took notice of the fire incident in a food factory in Gulistan Colony Faisalabad and sought a report from the DC Faisalabad in this regard. He directed the Labour Department that laws should be implemented regarding adoption of preventive measures in factories to remain safe from such incidents. The Minister has also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
Separately, representatives of different sections of livestock and dairy development department gave a briefing to the Minister about their working and performance.
