PRC to establish 121 labs, blood donation centres

Lahore—Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) will establish 121 laboratories to diagnose different diseases and blood donation centres across the country. In an interview with APP here on Sunday, PRC Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi said that no person would die due to shortage of blood if two percent people in the country donate blood.
He said that blood screening of prisoners in different jails of the country will be started and screening of 5,000 prisoners in Adyala Jail would be carried out as a project and added that ambulance Service College had been established at national headquarters.
He said that setting up of Disaster Management University was top priority and added that the team of 1.7 million volunteers would be increased to 5 million in three years. He said that Rapid Response Emergency project has been launched in line with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which would provide assistance along the corridor through ambulances, drone monitors and other technology.—APP
