Islamabad—Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched “ Go Green” Spring Plantation Campaign as a part of healthy and safe movement for a prosperous Pakistan.
PRC Chairman Dr. Saeed Elahi kicked off the campaign by planting a sapling in which 3000 saplings of evergreen species of Grivilla and Sukh Cheen will be planted 1 KM along 9th Avenue in Sector H-8/Sufi Tabassum Road and 2 KM along service road north in Sector I-9 sector.
PRC Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi, Secretary General PRC Dr Rizwan Naseer, Head of Delegation International Federation Red Crescent (IFRC) Pakistan Gorkhmaz Huseynov, ICRC Cooperation Delegate Mike Mayor , PRC staff, volunteers and CDA officials participated in the campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saeed Elahi said that the campaign was started with an aim to educate and aware masses on the importance of trees and significance of plantation for human life.
He said that PRC volunteers as a part of the Go Green campaign will plant a sapling in their respective areas to make their areas greener and environmental friendly. Dr Saeed Elahi urged the masses to fully participate in the campaign and play their role for a greener and prosperous Pakistan.
PRC Secretary General Dr Rizwan Naseer on the occasion said that our volunteers will take this campaign to the nook and corner of the country as our youth has always played a positive role in campaigns like that aim for the betterment and prosperity of the country. Dr Rizwans urged all the volunteers to fully participate in the campaign to make it a success and a healthy contribution towards a greener Pakistan.
