Hafizabad—State Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali said Wednesday that power generation would be reached to 17,000 MW by 2017 due to which the duration of loadshedding in the country would be reduced to a great extent during the summer.
Talking to the media at a reception hosted in his honor by his friend PML-N worker Kashif Randhawa in village Baweray Nau, he said that owing to concrete steps taken by the present government, the duration of loadshedding has been reduced from 18 hours to 6/8 hours a day during the past 2 years.
He assured that during this summer it would be confined upto 6 hours in urban areas and 8 hours in rural areas. “It will be our endeavours that the duration of loadshedding would be further decreased during this year,” he added.
He lauded the sacrifices rendered by officers/officials of law enforcing agencies particularly Pak Army during war against terrorism. He said that National Action Plan (NAP) was being implemented in letter and spirit to wipe out all terrorists.
Replying to a question regarding allegations by QM leaders against each other, he said the PML(N) was a democratic party and it don’t believe in making or breaking of any political party. He said the present government would not compromise on the integrity of the country.
Replying to another question, he said that law enforcement agencies should probe into the allegations of MQM leaders and responsible politicians should be taken to task. Replying to yet another question, he said the PML-N government was not creating any hurdle in the functioning of NAB and it believed in across the board accountability.
