Lahore—Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has notified a new Community Based Organization (CBO) Pothohar Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organization. Notification has been issued after completion of all legal formalities. The number of CBOs has been increased from 4 to 5 in the province with this notification.
Director General Wildlife and Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan told this while talking to a national news channel, in his office, here today. He said that four CBOs Kallar Kahar Urial Conseration and Trophy Hunting Organization Chakwal, Wildlife Lovers Urial Conseration and Trophy Hunting Organization Jhelum, Western Jhelum Urial Conseration and Trophy Hunting Organization Jhelum and Kala Bagh Urial Conseration and Trophy Hunting Organization were already working for Urial conseration and protection and due to their efforts Urial population has increased and it is hoped that with the establishment of new CBO, better results would be seen in Urial conservation.
Khalid Ayaz said that the wildlife department is following the Punjab government policy to bring forward private sector by adopting a comprehensive strategy. He said that with the establishment of new CBO, a healthy competition would take place which would not only help in increasing Urial population but also improve socio-economic conditions of the people of this area.
