Population control vital for uplift

Rawalpindi—Controlling rapidly growing population is vital for the country’s development and there is a need to evolve strategic plans for future generations in order to achieve target of development. District Population Welfare Officer (DWO) Shireen Sukhan said while speaking at a seminar on ‘population welfare week’ held at Holy Family Hospital here Thursday. The seminar was organized by Dr. Nida Incharge Family Planning Centre of the hospital. The Seminar was attended by Medical Superintendent HFH Dr Shafique Sarwar, District Deputy Population Welfare Officer Zaheer Babar,doctors,Nurses and others. Shireen stressed the need to create awareness about the importance of having small family and repercussions of growing population without proper planning and resources.
She said positive change can be brought among the women by giving due respect to their opinion, besides providing them education, better health facilities and other amenities of life.—APP
