Two dead, 16 injured as passenger bus overturns

Rawalpindi—Two persons including a robber and a policeman were killed while two cops injured in exchange of fire here on Sunday.
According to reports, the police interrupted a gang of robbers fleeing after committing a robbery in Nasirabad locality of Rawalpindi. On seeing the police party, the robbers opened fire.
During exchange of firing a police man identified as Nadir Khan died while two Constables Imran and Usman sustained wounds.
In retaliatory firing of police one robber was also killed while his other accomplices managed to escape.
Meanwhile, at least two people died and 16 others were injured when a passenger bus turned turtle here on Sunday.
Police said that a passenger bus leaving for Palandri area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) overturned in Faizabad area of Rawalpindi due to over speeding.
Two passengers died on the spot in the accident while 16 others sustained wounds. Police and rescue teams reached the scene of the accident and shifted the bodies and injured to hospitals where condition of some wounded people was stated to be serious.—Agencies
