The Sialkot police showing reluctance in taking action against local MPA and others despite dismissal of their appeal in the Lahore High Court. According to details, Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem of LHC has dismissed a petition filed by Faisal Ikram, son of a local MPA from PML-N Ch Muhammad Ikram, and upheld the earlier decision of Additional District and Sessions Judge. Faisal Ikram in the writ petition No. 13940, filed in 2016 in the Lahore High Court, had challenged the verdict of Additional District and Session Judge Sialkot regarding a case of fraud against his father, MPA Ch Muhammad Ikram and others, and had termed it as a violation of merit.
It is worth mentioning that a local businessman, Mian Atique ur Rehman in 2016 in the Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Sialkot had filed an application charging that MPA Ch Muhammad Ikram and others had received more than 27 million rupees from him and fraudulently sold him a piece of land which in fact was owned by the Army.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge Sialkot in his verdict had declared MPA CH Muhammad Ikram and others as guilty and had ordered the concerned police to register cases against them. On the other hand Sialkot police seems reluctant in taking any action against MPA Ch Muhammad Ikram and others despite dismissal of their appeal by LHC.
When contacted for his version in this regard, the Investigation Officer Civil Lines Police Station Ashraf Baryar told that he had not received any written court orders to take action against the MPA and others, as yet.
