Police bust four gangs of criminals

Potohar Division police in their crackdowns against criminals and anti-social elements have busted four gangs of criminals by arresting 17 accused during October.
Talking to APP Superintendent Police (SP) Potohar Division Syed Ali informed that police recovered two motorcycles, three vehicles and cash Rs3.8 million from the possession of the criminals.
He said, a massive operation was launched in October to net the drug dealers and police succeeded to round up 66 drug suppliers. 3490 grams heroin, over 24 kg charras and 646 bottles of liquor were recovered while police also booked four drunkards who were under the influence of alcohol.
Raids were conducted under National Action Plan and police registered 42 FIRs against lawbreakers for possessing illegal weapons.
To a question he informed that Potohar Division police registered three cases against gamblers in Oct.
Syed Ali said on the directive of IG Punjab and RPO Rawalpindi, special operation was being run against Proclaimed Offenders while 40 POs who were wanted in murder, dacoity, robbery and other crimes were rounded up during last month. A blind murder case was resolved and criminals allegedly involved the case were traced, he added. He said, police after hectic efforts managed to arrest accused involved in four robbery cases and recovered looted amount.—APP
