Police book robbers gang impersonating as FIA officials

Airport police have booked a three member gang involved in various robberies by impersonating as Federal Investigation Agency FIA officials and looted gold, cash, mobile phones and other valuables.
Taking action on increasing robberies in areas around airport, City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi constituted a special team under the supervision of SP Potohar Division Syed Ali to nab the robbers gang.
Briefing press, Station House Officer Airport Police Station Ahsan Kiani said police had also recovered Rs 2.2 million and weapons from the possession of the gang.
The arrested were identified as Dilshad Masih, Arslan Masih and Amir alias Irshad while one of the robber Hafiz Ashraf managed to flee to Malaysia and police would ask Punjab Home Department to contact the interior ministry for obtaining red warrant for his arrest.
He said police was making efforts to arrest the mastermind of the gang Shakeel Kiyani, who was absconding. The SHO said the gang leader hails from Sargodha and committed robberies in areas of Morgah, Rawat, Civil Lines, Westridge, Lohibher, Sihala and Shehzad Town.—APP
