Police arrests 160 proclaimed offenders in operation against crmininals


Islamabad—The police have arrested 160 proclaimed offenders in the last eight days during an extensive campaign against criminals. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operation) Islamabad, Sajid Kiyani on Saturday instructed for widespread crackdown for arrest of proclaimed offenders should be continued in order to curb the crime.
According to details, in light of orders of the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, SSP Operation Sajid Kiyani addressed police personnel at Rescue 15 office, for stepping up campaign against proclaimed offenders.
SP Investigation, all zonal SSPs, SDPOs and SHOs attended the meeting.
Giving task to police officers to arrest proclaimed offenders by April 11, he said police should improve its performance.
Those officers and personnel who are negligent would be removed from their posts immediately, he stressed.
He said policemen should work day and night to protect life and property of citizens.
Sajid Kiyani instructed that immediate steps should be taken for immediate arrests of proclaimed offenders involved in serious cases of kidnapping for ransom, armed robberies and murders. He said an accused irrespective of his influence should not be spared from clutches of law.
All SPs themselves should supervise the campaign of arrests so that criminals can be brought to justice.
He directed that the system of patrolling should be made more effective so that the federal capital could be free of crime. A watchful eye should be kept on criminals during patrolling, he said adding only those policemen could now stay in service who work wholeheartedly.—APP
