Rawalpindi police in crackdowns against kite sellers and kite flyers arrested 550 lawbreakers and seized 290,000 kites with 40000 kite flying string rolls from the possession of the accused during last two months.
According to Rawalpindi police spokesman, special teams on the directive of City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi were formed to net the kite sellers and kite flying ban violators and all out efforts were made to control the illegal activity. 450 cases were registered during the period, he added. He informed that two Suzuki carry vans, four motorcycles and a rikshaw were confiscated and police recovered sound systems, illegal weapons and fireworks items from the possession of arrested accused.
He said, the raids would continue to ensure implementation on the law of ban on kite flying. Strict action in accordance with the law is being taken against the rules violators, he added.—APP
