Police arrest 52; seize 8216 kites, 162 string rolls

Rawalpindi—Rawalpindi police in its crackdown against kite sellers and kite flyers have arrested 52 persons and seized 8216 kites with 162 kite flying string rolls from the possession of the accused.
According to Rawalpindi police spokesman, City police recovered 38 kites from the possession of Danial. Gungmandi police seized 1006 kites and string rolls and netted Zeeshan. Rattaamral police recovered 2461 kites and 15 kite flying string rolls from Abdul Attiq. Waris Khan police rounded up Ahmed Butt for possessing 1751 kites and 15 string rolls.
Banni police arrested Irfan for carrying 15 kites. Sadiqabad police conducted a raid and held Umair Khan with 1720 kites and 10 string rolls. R.A. Bazar police apprehended Usman Ghani for having 560 kites.
Similarly, Race Course police nabbed Muhammad Rashid and seized 63 kites and 10 string rolls. Other accused were booked on violation of kite flying ban.
The spokesman informed that strict action in accordance with the law is being taken against the rules violators.—APP
