PNCA to foster sense of cultural harmony among masses

Islamabad—Pakistan National Council for Arts (PNCA) strives to foster cultural harmony among the nation, and project Pakistan as a united, progressive and culturally rich country.
With the objectives to encourage creative individual talent, develop art and culture institutions and foster clear sense of purpose, PNCA provides services as an expert and advisory body. It organizes a number of events to spotlight the importance of National days like Pakistan day, Independence day, Defense day, Iqbal day and Quaid-e-Azam day.
The council celebrates all these days by organizing a series of programmes that include cultural shows, photographic Exhibition, musical shows and different performing art narrating historical events leading to the occurrence of these National days.
The council organizes major events to enliven the art scene while proving opportunities to artists to perform art and collaborate with international talents.
According to the data provided by a PNCA official, approximate number of the activities performed at PNCA from July 2014-2016 is 339 under the categories of visual art, performing arts and cultural pacts.
These activities are carried out by mutual cooperation and support from administration research, publication and managerial divisions of the council.
While talking to APP an official to PNCA said the council focuses on manpower and skill development to raise the level of professionalism and expand capabilities in arts sector.—APP
