Rs50b to be spent on AJK uplift
Islamabad—Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid expressed the confidence that PML-N will win the election and form Government in AJK. He said they will fulfill all the promises made with the people. He said PML-N is the only party which will contest elections alone. He said other parties are making alliances.
Meanwhile Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir says Rs 50 billion will be spent on development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the next five years.
Announcing the PML-N election manifesto for AJK, he said 10 billion rupees will be spent every year for development of the area. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Asif Kirmani were also present.
The Minister said on the direction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, provision of resources for mega projects have been made part of the election manifesto. Giving details of the projects, Barjees Tahir said Mirpur-Muzaffarabad expressway will be completed and work on Leepa tunnel will be started in 2016-17.
He said to modernize the hospitals in AJK, trauma centres will be established at district level. He pointed out that five air ambulances will be provided to AJK. He said Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences will be upgraded. The Minister said sui gas will be provided to Mirpur and adjoining areas on priority basis. —SABAH
