PML-N believes in transparency: Pervaiz

Islamabad—Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that PML(N) believes in transparency and presented itself for accountability whenever any allegation was leveled.
He was addressing a news conference along with PML-N leaders Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Muhammad Zubair, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha and Danyal Aziz in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Minister said PML-N formed judicial commission when allegations of rigging were leveled and went for audit to clear itself of accusations of alleged wrongdoing in a power project.
He said the party also has an internal mechanism of accountability and sought resignations from those who committed mistakes. The Minister, however, regretted that Imran Khan levels allegations against others but has not so far cleared his position despite allegations of corruption in Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Banni Gala property.
Mr. Danyal Aziz presented documents before media to substantiate his claim that Imran Khan invested money collected in the name of Shaukat Khanum Hospital in off-shore companies.
He said Imran Khan is objecting to overseas investment by others but he himself has invested money in other countries including Afghanistan and Oman. He said as against Imran Khan who invested money collected from Pakistan in offshore companies abroad, sons of the Prime Minister earned money abroad and invested in legal business activities. “Imran Khan in partnership with Imtiaz Haidery invested money in Oman and according to Shaukat Khanum’s audit report, money had been invested in Oman,” Aziz said.
Replying to a question, the Information Minister said Imran Khan had committed before media to sell his property to make up for losses of Shaukat Khanum Hospital because of illegal investment but has not fulfilled his pledge.—SABAH
