PMDC conducts exam for 3,000 foreign qualified MBBS graduates

Islamabad—Around 3,000 graduates of MBBS from various foreign universities Thursday appeared in Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) National examination board (NEB) step I held at Pak-China Center with support from Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto Medical University/ PIMS Islamabad. The step II exam is going to be held today (Friday) in which 721candidates would appear. In the Step I & II examination almost 3,000 candidates are appearing in total which is the highest no of candidates appearing in the NEB exam in the history of PM&DC.
Dr Amir Hussain Bandeshah Member Executive Committee of PM&DC has said that on June 2 and 3 around 3000 candidates will appear for in total. He said that for the first such a huge number of candidates have appeared in this examination, however to have a proper check and holding a successful transparent examination, many members of PM&DC were present at the examination hall.
According to the handout, the test is mandatory for the doctors who want to do practice in the country. PM&DC will not tolerate any type of corruption as there has been a bad image of the examination. PM&DC new council has pledged to improve the system of the examination and over first priority to eradicate corruption.
