Prime Minister will soon take all political parties into confidence on progress of multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
According to sources, there is wider consensus of provincial governments on the mega corridor project but certain elements keep surfacing to kick dust on this important project.
They pointed out that the prime minister in the past hosted all parties’ conferences to allay the fears of the provinces. The latest move to brief the political parties on the progress of CPEC is also aimed at further promoting amiable environment vis-à-vis this game changer project.
The work on projects under the umbrella of CPEC is progressing well and a joint Parliamentary Committee is supervising all the projects. The sixth meeting of JCC had decided to set up industrial zones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. In the JCC meeting, projects of mass transit systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Karachi and Quetta were also made part of the CPEC.
