PM orders action against bogus allotment of PHAF

Islamabad—Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has ordered to initiate legal proceedings against four officers of Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) for their involvement in the fraudulent and bogus allotment of executive apartments to certain government officers.
The Prime Minister annulled the entire allotment process being fraudulent and bogus.
On prime minister’s directive, in the future, the Ministry of Housing & Works shall advertise complete specifications of available apartments, built houses or plots, as the case may be, along with eligibility criteria for officers who wish to become members PHAF. The ministry will develop comprehensive bylaws to ensure transparency and equal opportunity in all future PHAF projects.
The two officers who have been identified in the report as bearing the primary responsibility for the fraudulent and bogus allotments are Muhammad Ilyas, MD PHAF and Syeda Shafaq Ali, Director Land and Estate, PHAF. Both have been suspended.
Two other officers who have been identified in the report as bearing the secondary responsibility are Javed Iqbal, Director Admn, PHAF and Usman Sarosh Alvi, Deputy Secretary Housing & Works.
They are being immediately transferred from their current positions and shall not be posted in the Ministry of Housing & Works or its affiliated organizations in future.
