High-level meeting reviews gains of Radd-ul-Fasaad
A high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Friday expressed resolve to remain steadfast to undertake all steps for eliminating terrorists without any discrimination of geographic region, colour or sect.
Addressing the meeting Nawaz Sharif stated that across the board consensus among all the stakeholders and the overwhelming sentiments of our people to get rid of terrorism and extremism guarantee a comprehensive win in this war. He said Pakistan has given immense sacrifices in its own war against terrorism.
Participants of the meeting reviewed the gains of ‘Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’; unanimously resolving that action would continue till it achieve the set targets. They underlined that the operation reflects the unilateral national resolve and commitment of complete obliteration of terrorism from the entire country.
On February 22, a nationwide military operation ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ was launched, which included broad-spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations in Punjab, and continuation of ongoing operations across the country. It was also stated that Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy, Civil Armed Forces as well as other security and law enforcement agencies will continue to actively participate and support the efforts of the Pakistan Army to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
The participants agreed to continue the offensive against terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations with the fullest might of the state, and get rid of the irritants in our collective objective of ensuring a secured, peaceful and stable Pakistan. They further reiterated that national unity and support are indispensable for successful implementation of the anti-terror strategy.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua and DG ISI Lt. General NaveedMukhtar. The meeting was also attended by other senior civil and military officials.
