PM approves withdrawal of CDA’s summary on cancellation

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah on Wednesday informed the House about the successful efforts of the body for not converting 1400 acres land of National Agriculture Research Council into residential and commercial plots by Capital Development Authority.
He said that Minister for National Food Security & Research has informed the Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research today that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has been pleased to approve the proposal of the Ministry of National Food Security & Research for withdrawal of summary of Chairman CDA dated March 31, 2015 regarding the re-planning of NARC land and cancellation of lease agreement between CDA and NARC. The Chair referred two privilege motions of PML-F lawmaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah to the relevant Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges.
These motions were against management of PIA for not responding to the Senate Special Committee constituted to look into three various incidents linked with the airline and non-implementation on the Committee’s recommendations to improve its performance.
Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Baligh ur Rehman introduced the Apprenticeship Bill, 2017 which was referred to the relevant committee for further deliberations.—APP
