President Karachi Transport Action Committee Muhammad Ashraf Bangalori has demanded of the government to ensure safety of passengers paying huge fare for travelling by planes.
In a statement here Sunday, Bangalori demanded thorough checks of passenger aircrafts and the old one immediately be withdrawn from the fleet.
He alleged that though people pay high fare for purchase of air tickets, but still their lives are not secure. Ashraf Bangalori demanded making public the investigation of the ATR aircraft crashed near Havelian on December 7.
Criticizing the airline pilots as well, Bangalori said that to meet their demands including enhancement of salaries and other allowances, these pilots and their associations pressurize government by resorting to strike, but they had never opted to exert pressure on administration to ensure proper maintenances of aircraft.
