PIA sacks 6 employees; All options open: JAC


Karachi—Pakistan International Airlines management has sacked 6 PIA employees of Engineering Department, which is being declared as departmental action against the employees for failing to respond to the show cause notices that were issued to them.
The 6 employees, who have been sacked, are Assistant Engineers Shoaib Noor, Amjad Ansari, Trainee Engineers Shoaib Saleem, Asad Mufti, and Naeem Iqbal, Senior Technician Rao Naeem. In total, the PIA administration has so far issued show cause notices to 220 employees. When contacted, PIA General Manager Public Relations and spokesperson Adnan Gillani confirmed that 6 employees have been sacked.
While talking to this scribe, PIA Joint Action Committee Deputy Convener Safdar said that eight days ago, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah had held talks with the JAC delegation and promised that on ending the strike and protest, no action would be taken against any employee.
The CM Shahbaz Sharif had also promised to constitute a probe committee to ascertain the killers of 2 PIA employees while on the other hand, the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had also promised to form a judicial commission for ascertaining the killers of the PIA employees.
