Under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency has gave approval of starting construction of 1.5 lakh houses in the different cities of the province by the end of 2019. The meeting of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency was held under the chair of Minister Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, today.
Director General Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency Liaqat Ali Chatta and other members were also present on this occasion.
Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed said that under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, process is being speedily carried out for acquiring land in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Chiniot, Jhelum, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Quaid Abad. He said that applications for the allotment of these houses in the cities will be received after eid.
He said that approval for the layout plan for starting the project in aforementioned cities and construction of infrastructure will be started in a phase.
He also directed authorities of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency that work for acquiring land under Naya Pakistan Hosuing Scheme in other cities should also be started on priority basis.
DG Liaqat Ali Chatta gave the detailed briefing to the attendants of the meeting about the progress of construction of houses in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.
