PHF launches campaign for jobless hockey players

Peshawar—The Pakistan Hockey Federation Monday launched a compaign for the jobless hockey players and all those fulfilling the prescribe criteria would be provided job, said President PHF Brig. Khalid Sajjad Kokkar in a media release issued here.
Out of many reason of the down fall of hockey, the one and the prime reasons for the decreasing interest in hockey among the youth is lack of job opportunities and even many of the international players are currently jobless because of squeezing off prominent departments who had their respective teams earlier on.
Ever since, President PHF, Brig (R) Khalid S.Khokhar and Secretary General, Shahbaz Ahmed assumed the charge, they have been striving to create jobs opportunities for the hockey players. That is why for the first time, they had approached to various departments and initially they have got positive response from quite a few departments. The PHF has asked all the players who are jobless and fulfill the following two conditions to contact the PHF comprising (i) within the age bracket of 18-27 and (ii) have attended a national hockey camp (either for the national senior team or any national age group team).—APP
