PFA marked ‘World Food Day’

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has celebrated the World Food Day under the theme “End Hunger, Improve Nutrition and Food Safety and Food Security” at a local hotel.
The ceremony was attended by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, Director General Punjab Food Authority Mr Noor ul Amin Mengal and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General Punjab Food Authority Mr Noor ul Amin Mengal has vowed to make adulteration free healthier Punjab in next few years and shed light on several food issues during his speech.
DG said that awareness and education can play a key role in addressing food issues added that it can also help create public support for conservation of Food’s resources and can be a voice for change.
He said that our 700 food safety teams contained 2000 Food Safety Officers are working day and night in across the Punjab just to ensure the availability of healthy food for people.
He also given stressed on loose milk issue and said it not possible to check all milk shops and milk vehicles on entry and exit points.
But PFA has make law to deal such issued and in this regard, PFA has gave five years time to end the sale of open milk and we are bringing into the regime of “Pasteurisation Law’.
