Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday traced a substandard red chilli powder production unit which led to seizure of a huge quantity of substandard chilli by their team.
According to a PFA spokesman, a Vigilance team of PFA led by Director Operations Rafia Haider, was given the task to nab culprits involved in supplying substandard red chilli powder and other spices to famous stores of the provincial capital.
After investigation, the team traced the unit 10 kms away from Gajjumatta and recovered 3,800 kg chilli powder, 3,100 kg turmeric powder, and a huge quantity of raw material.
All the workers and owners of the unit managed to escape from the scene. The DG PFA announced cash prizes for the Vigilance team on the successful raid.
